The reason why Sokai has not been strong since KH1 is because when they have two female characters in a game like Aqua and Kairi they will make one female character as a bad ass and the other one only as a damsel in distress, and they don't give Kairi her moment to shine. Hopefully they will change that in the future

I could write a novel about my feelings on KH, but I'll try to do a sparknotes summary. I was obsessed with Kingdom Hearts from day one. I was about 7 or 8 when it first released and I remember vividly whenever the commercial would play on TV I would drop EVERYTHING I was doing to go and watch it. I was a Disney kid, yes, but I was also a Final Fantasy kid, so this was the merging of two of my absolute favorite things in the world. Yes, I did cry when Sora was announced for Smash Bros. It wasn't until after KH2's release that I became obsessed with SoRiku. I think they were my first introduction to what gay was. I read and wrote fanfiction, collected fan art, and made AMVs (my original channel name was "Rikusgirl1" lol). For years I wore an Oathkeeper necklace every single day. It was truly my first HUGE special interest. And as it turned out... I'm asexual panromantic. I see so much of myself in both Sora and Riku, and I think that's why as a couple they resonated so heavily with me.

i swear kingdom hearts has been a HUGE like HUGE part of my life and i thank the youtuber that i happened to stumble unto that made a kingdom hearts video like ten years ago, it has been a huge turn in my life. Just like you i was drawn by familiar faces like the Disney character a completely felled head over heels in Love with the characters and the story, I've made a great and awesome best friend by the discussion of this series and I've emotion so strong that no film nor popular video games made me felt before. Soriku, wherever it will come out (ahah get it ?) as Romantic or platonic (even if since KH1 i want them to be officially canon romantically, and beg for a scene that proves so, IM STARVING ) have my dream like link between two people that i set myself to copy with the relation i entertain with friends, i know they'll be there for me and I'll be there for them. Plus i can relate very much to Sora and the fact he breaks society "golden" rule that man can do this or not that and i found it very progressing and awesome ! Sorry i pulled my heart out in this commentary but i felt good typing it under a such awesome and relatable video ! I wish you a happy day, and may your heart be your guiding key <3

The last time I saw a video with this topic I felt like the person who made it kinda ended up invalidating the queer community in the end, which was uncalled for 🥲. So many characters fighting for identity, the found family....Sora & Riku's relationship, whatever that ends up to be....everything is so genuine & special, & the emotional scenes. it's so good. I'm not queer but I feel the same way everyone does, I always felt like I was different from everyone else but that was because I have ADHD so when The topic of Riku and self acceptance, I could relate to that. I also relate to Roxas a lot "I hardly know who I am what's wrong with getting some answers?" I was undiagnosed until last month so I always thought something was wrong with me, I didn't really know who I was so I was trying to figure out why I was this way. And Sora will always be my comfort character, my favorite character in media because he reaches out to so many people in need and it felt like he was reaching out to me when I was in my darkest state. He was there to get me through it. So it's only fair for me to do the same to everyone else. If Sora doesn't exist then I'll make him exist. The world needs more people like him.

What a lovely video topic. As a gay trans man, I had so much gender envy for Sora (as well as a crush on him and Riku too as a kid). Sora was kind of like my dream Boy self that I projected on and also kind of like a friend to me. I used to scribble KH doodles in the margins of my notebooks at school. I shipped SoKai at the time because that was what I saw being presented to me and I like both characters (plus I barely knew gay people existed). I didn't discover lgbt fandom until I was much older and had figured more things out. Before that, "KH fandom" was mostly just (frequently homophobic) joke vids on yt to me. Sora was even one of the examples I used to make myself feel better over being shorter than I wished. I had too much internalized homophobia to ship SoRiku at first, but replaying the series as a fully out adult I immediately picked up on their relationship. And then I got to DDD and couldn't believe what I was seeing lol. It was my childhood dream to cosplay Sora as a kid and I finally got to do it recently as an adult. :')

I Just Hope That Sora Will Know The Truth Of Riku’s Sacrifice (Every Time When I Try To Mention This Topic, They Changed Subject Or Just Dismiss It That It Never Happened) Look To See Sora’s Reaction To This And The Other Memories He Had (The Meteor Shower When Riku Gave Him The Crown Necklace) Or Just Having Time To Himself To Reflect On Everything :)

This is one of the thing that I did appreciate in the show, the representation is shown to be normal. Because sometimes I do feel when a show tries to do that, they make a big deal about it. So it doesn't feel natural ! But there is another show who also shows representation as something normal is rwby, one of my favorite shows. For example in volume 9 we have seen two main characters (two women) being a couple. And fans have been waiting for so long for these two to be together given these two have a slow burn in their romance. ^^

6:10 I also really love the Sorvus ship. Especially after reading the short story Changing of the Guard on the official website. That story shows Soren asking Corvus to be a crown guard, mainly because of how much of he admires and trusts him, and how he wants Corvus to stick around. And even though Soren can’t say it yet, Corvus knows that it’s because Soren is still hurting from Viren and Claudia leaving and betraying him in season 3, and decides to join so Soren can have someone in his life who stays. With the two of them on their own adventure in season 6, I’m really hoping for a scene where Soren finally is ready to open up to Corvus about his trauma.

I really love how the world of Xadia doesn’t have a single speck of homophobia or transphobia in it. Especially since this is a show for children and families, it really does help to normalize LGBT identities to younger viewers. Even Viren, the main villain of the show who is guilty of a hundred horrible things, is completely accepting of Terry once he comes out to him! I also liked how the writing team actually got representatives from GLAAD to offer input into Terry’s character and the scene where he comes out to Viren. It tells me that they cared a lot about giving us some good trans representation. And also Terry’s voice actor, who is also a trans man, got to weigh in a lot on Terry‘a design and presentation. Even making the choice for Terry to be mid transition as he feels they’re aren’t enough trans characters in media who are shown to be mid transition.

All the romantic relationships are great in this show. So many shows make mention of characters being together be its rarely convayed outside of a few isolated scenes, but here the couples are always so openly affectionate whenever they have the opportunity.

Amaya sounds like a cool character. Love seeing positive deaf representation. Enjoyed listening to you talk about queer rep in one of your favorite interests.

I agree. I really love how the team behind tdp commited to the concept of a society that "doesnt care about those things" like a lot of creatives try and claim about their world, like harry potter, disney properties, etc but then...dont have anyone outside of our world's values lol. It feels like the creators actually thought about the world and what - if magical creatures, races, etc exist - would be considered "strange" or "lesser" in it. In a world like this, it makes sense that different disabilities, races, and sexualities would be generally accepted or commonplace. Honestly, i think the only thing that makes me a little sad is that none of the main team have shown interest in people of the same gender. I do appreciate secondary cast rep like Amaya, of course, but it makes me disappointed that, yet again in fiction, the lesbian couple is the one to get the immediate approval and most screentime while couples like Runaan and Ethari are forced to be apart and, honestly, suffer the most narratively compared to most others. I know it probably isnt intended to come off that way, but i just cant help but see it. I guess i just cant help but see what improvements could be made. Despite these little deficiencies though, I still adore tdp and am so impressed with what rep it DOES have. I think it's a great step into what should be considered the default standard for all media

Sora and Kairi didn't really share a paopu though. They each ate their own paopu, which I think is really important to note, and is even more important to the "gayblade". Because when you look at the keyblades before they fuse together, they have different keychains. It's only when they fuse and become one that it switches to a paopu. Two people sharing one paopu. Also, Soriku hints that have been driving me crazy is all the mistranslations in KH3, along with Riku's sacrifice at the end, paralleling with all the true love sacrifices through out the game! Ugh, my heart! 💛

So maybe I did see this on a post but maybe the "Startouched" could be used for banished startouch elves. Wich would explain why Aaravos has a glow down when the Merciful One comes and reconfort him. Also "We all fall down", someone suggest that it's actually startouch elves who falls to Xadia. Just imagine, you did your job done and you see elves that falling of the sky. That would be a spectacle ! But also you would be payed enough to see this bullshit ! "Moonless Night" is surely about Rayla's family or could it be about Kim'Dael and maybe her past. The "Stardust" could be the teasing about the realm of the startouch elves. Or like I said for "We all fall down" Aaravos would get stardust and get back to his realm and probably Callum since he has a connection to the star arcanum and also because of the possesion. So oops ! Callum's gone missing at the end of season 6 with Aaravos. Like I don't think it's going to happen but if it's happens, that would be very funny to me ! For the sunfire poster, I did talked more on my post, to sump roughly, the book has a golden claw which Sol Regem did have in his prime, the bird we see, it's the same when Callum got the tome of translations. And the quote could about the planet of Xadia or that Aditi betrays Aaravos at some point. For the earthblood, I was more focused on the quote which could tease the realm of the startouch elves. Or that they created Xadia and that why they didn't like that humans uses primal magic. Because it doesn't fit in with the image of the world they've created, as it unbalances everything from their point of view. Also why Aaravos is crying ? I mean he cries because he's ran out of hair products.
